Challenge: Ensuring seamless transition between RVX WebRTC video and Unity-based AR camera streaming. Solution: Designed a hybrid workflow that preserved WebRTC audio while switching to Unity for visual interaction, minimizing user disruption and retaining live voice guidance.
Challenge: Achieving accurate and reliable AR measurements across varied environments. Solution: Tuned Lightship ARDK parameters to maintain tracking stability and spatial accuracy across diverse lighting and surface conditions.
Challenge: Providing a usable experience for non-technical end users in high-pressure support scenarios. Solution: Focused on a minimal, intuitive UI and designed a step-by-step flow requiring minimal input from the user, with optional future onboarding aids like tooltips or guided prompts.
Challenge: Managing camera and audio handoff between multiple systems without compromising communication. Solution: Prioritized retention of WebRTC audio and introduced fallback support using Unity-based audio streaming when needed.
Challenge: Laying the groundwork for 3D model placement while focusing on measurement MVP. Solution: Developed and tested a prototype feature for model anchoring using AR Foundation and AWS S3-hosted addressables. While not included in the final handover, this work provided a solid base for future integration.
